Secret Sauce is a hypothetical Crayola activity kit, marketed towards families to help record memories, keep traditions alive, and discover new recipes, all in one classic keepsake living on their counter.
Cooking is a craft meant to be shared. Designed to get the whole family engaged in the creative side of the kitchen, this spin on a classic recipe box includes all the necessary ingredients: fill-in recipe cards, a sticker set for custom notes and commentary, and a set of coloring pencils to illustrate each dish. This recipe kit can be passed along and shared between friends, households, and generations.
The logo is composed of various food and cooking items, adapted to accentuate the product name’s geometric letterforms and instill some color and excitement into the brand. This typographic style easily translated into similar treatment for Secret Sauce’s tagline: “There’s no taste like home.”
I sought to achieve a level of maturity with reserved, traditional typography and an organic color palette, while still embracing playful elements of illustration and simple systems of organization that can be easily navigated by all ages.
